Lets face facts ... this movie was put out to make money for the Jackson estate. There is nothing wrong with that but I can not stand when it is said that this is for the fans and/of music lovers.

I'll tell you this, he doesn't come across anymore human. He doesn't have anything to say besides instructions. It's like Law & Order. He doesn't mention a family or anything beyond the case at hand. I felt that there wasn't much in the behind-the-scenesness Every 20 minutes, you might see someone apply makeup to a zombie. Never gained a sense of the venue, stage dimensions, budget constraints, etc.

Good review, I think the main purpose of This Is It is to show the behind the scenes" Michael. For fans and music fans alike, to see this legend as a real person and creative/musical director will be very impressive. Sure, it's going for the "wow" factor. I don't think it's fair to criticize the film for not having a story, how could it? This was footage filmed for Michael's personal collection only. Plus, he DIED... how could their be an ending? I think the counter of number of days remaining in his life would not fly well with his emotional fans, as well as setting a morbid tone to a movie many will see to remind them of when Michael was alive. It's hard to comment on the rest of the article because I haven't seen the movie yet.
