Later this month is the Tallgrass Film Festival. I’m going to be quite busy with it so there may be a week where I don’t catch a new release. However, I am going to bring over many written reviews of independent films which are playing at the festival. In addition to this, I plan to do written reviews of all films I’ve rated at 4 stars. I’ve already started this with Alien, and the current plan is to go down the list in alphabetic order. Afterward I’ll round things out by reviewing other favorites. The hope is that in doing so, I’ll create a spectrum for which it will be easier for you to gauge how new releases compare to classics in my eyes.
Since I can’t presently catch all new releases, I will be doing written reviews of interesting (good or aweful) films I rent. In other words, new releases will still get the video treatment, but in the interest of time I’m going to be limited to text based reviews of older films.
